What’s the most embarrassing song currently in your playlist?
“Manic Monday” by the Bangles. It was on the radio when my oldest son was learning to talk. We used to sing it together. He loved it, therefore, so did I.

Who is your favorite storyteller?
In the radio world, Carman used to rock a story, beginning with “Sunday’s On The Way."

In the realm of authors, probably Donald Miller.

Most amazing encounter with someone in need?
On a church outreach to Harlem, I sat down next to guy to begin a conversation.

"We get a lot of youth groups coming to Harlem every summer, trying to save our souls," he said.

"I've got a question for you: If you were a father, and your daughter was crying because she was hungry, would you steal something to feed her?"

"Is that wrong?" he asked.

I mumbled something about the Ten Commandments and God providing.

But it felt empty.

For the first time, I understood the dilemma of the poor. It was my first experience moving from sympathy to empathy.

Why do you do what you do for i58:10 Media?
After 40 years in radio, I’m excited about finishing well by coming alongside ministries that love well and give a voice to precious people worldwide.

Describe your family?
Married to my best friend for 37 years. Amazing kids. Amazing grace.

What is one quote that has had a big impact on your life?
“Define yourself as one radically loved by God. This is the true self. Every other identity is an illusion." -Brennan Manning
